After we install Oracle BI server on local machine and reboot, the first difference you would notice is the start of OC4J under the command prompt window automatically. This could become annoying after a while. The reason why this starts up automatically is because it has been setup in the registry. (more…)

Siebel Server Manager (srvrmgr) utility allows configuration changes from command line. Server Manager Utility is available under \<SiebelSrvr_Root>\bin.

I was researching today about Oracle BI on the internet and came across New York City government website showing its CPR Tool available to public based on Oracle BI. CPR (Citywide Performance Reporting) is a tool available online to public about city services performance. The city made an OBIEE based dashboard available to public online. (more…)

There are often times when we need to extend the Siebel data model. One of them is to add an extension column to the existing Siebel tables. In this blog I have listed a simplified version of steps required to add an extension column. But before you create an extension column make sure that the existing columns provided by Siebel don’t meet your requirements. You should create extension columns only if necessary.
